Tanvikaa is an ecommerce brand that focuses on the selling of curated collections of Indian handcrafted clothing such as the delicate hand embroidered Chikankari Kurtis and saris of Lucknow and the rich handwoven Benarasi brocade saris. Inspired by family legacy and a deep-rooted appreciation for the magic of the crafts of India the brand aims to grow the product portfolio to include more collections of other crafted clothing as well.
At its core Tanvikaa strives to bridge the gap between the skilled artisans and today’s urban and Global consumers. While our current model involves sourcing premium -quality products from trusted wholesalers, we are steadily working to nurture direct relationships with artisans , helping them evolve their heritage skills to blend seamlessly with fashion forward, contemporary designs.

OUR IDENTITY
The overall visual identity of our brand is very much rooted into bringing to the forefront the hands that create art.
- The logo is a seamless blend into celebrating the women artisans sitting tirelessly fine tuning every thread to turn it into magic.
- the name Tanvikaa itself speaks volumes of the brand’s philosophy of delivering to your doorstep beautiful delicate culturally significant pieces.
- Tanvikaa means: Something that is beautiful, elegant and delicate also used to refer to Goddess Durga .
The idea of building an ecommerce platform dedicated towards selling Indian handcrafted clothing starting with Chikankari and Banarasi Brocade was influenced by a family legacy.
I used to hear stories of how my maternal grandmother and her brother used to love exploring the vibrant streets of the Bunkar Basti in Varanasi when they were young. Having spent their entire childhood there and being born into a family where business used to run in their blood my grandmother’s brother particularly got inclined towards bringing to the forefront the beautiful craft of Benarasi brocade. When my grandmother got married, she came and settled in Mumbai and whenever her brother used to visit her, he would bring bundles of freshly woven sarees all the way from Varanasi so that he could sell it to the friends and acquaintances of my grandmother.
Since internet did not exist during those times, I wanted to take the opportunity to take his dream forward and connect the artisans and the dexterity of their hands with every doorstep through my venture-my very own ecommerce business Tanvikaa.
